What is E-Waste?

As per the E-waste (Management) Rules, 2016, 'E-waste' refers to electrical and electronic equipment, whether whole or in part, discarded as waste by consumers or bulk consumers, as well as rejects from manufacturing, refurbishment, and repair processes.

Electronics that have reached the end of their useful life — if not recycled in an environmentally sound way — pose serious environmental and health risks.
